About Me

My name is Zenya Hima. That's the name I've gone by on the Internet for a long time now anyways. I'm a COMMANDER, PRINCESS vtuber!! I started making content, starting with streaming on Twitch, in late April of 2021. I was inspired by Hololive, which gave me much happiness for the past years, and realized that I could try doing the whole "vtubing" thing myself, especially once Holomyth came out and I saw more Vtuber indies. My whole journey is a little embarrassing...I would just stream Arknights, because I was very into that game, just so I could make progress during events and hopefully make friends who were into the game as well. I also played other gachas (like Genshin) and Wizard101 because well, that's all I knew at the time. I stayed in my own little bubble for quite a while, not really understanding social media or how to put myself out there. If I were to restart right now, I would know exactly what to do and how to best take advantage of it - however at the time I absolutely did not know and just fumbled around for some years. I've kept this same name all these years as I refused to get a different identity or make a new account, and even though most of the people I met from back then are long gone, I treasured them dearly and wanted to keep being Zenya. Anyways, I've come to love this hobby a lot and I think it's helped me a lot, in becoming less shy and more comfortable talking to people. I really like having this little space for myself, so thank you for being here and accepting me.

My original inspirations include Usada Pekora, Akai Haato, Fubuki, Korone, and the one who got me into Hololive and vtubers as a whole was, of course, Sakura Miko! Once the English scene really got around, Kiara and Gura from Hololive Myth English were hugely inspirational in me finally taking those beginning steps.

I stream on Twitch and Youtube, make ASMR Youtube videos every week and host community nights on Discord (as well as random yapping...)

I'd classify my current content as focusing on:

• Retro Gaming: There's a lot of classic, amazing older games that I've never been able to play before. So I'm taking streaming as an opportunity to experience these old games for the first time, and hopefully help others relive them with me.
• Horror/Shooter games: Spooks are fun ig!! And so is shooting!!
• Model kit building: I've been building gunplas semi-regularly on stream, ABOUT EVERY MONTH, and I hope to explore that hobby more.
• ASMR: I do binaural ASMR streams week, trying to focus on different themes for each of them, as well as weekly ASMR videos on Youtube. There's some extra ASMR on my Ko-Fi page too!
• General variety content: If I'm not doing any of the above, sometimes I do random other types of streams, for whatever reason. VR, themed Youtube nights, themed games...

In my personal life, I'm currently in my last year of university and I plan to become a full time Game Developer. I've made games before, but nothing I can share here of course. I hope that I can one day make a game for this space in particular , so I can show you all my skills! I'm really passionate about games and game development so, feel free to ask me anything about it or the industry or anything like that! I'm Canadian and live in the EST timezone! However my parents are immigrants from Europe, so I'd be considered a second generation immigrant myself (or is it first generation? I don't know really). Speaking of my family, I have one younger brother, but that's about it! I am also a GIRL if that is not clear!! :)

Update: I am now graduated, so I am officially a full time vtuber wheee!!

I'm a big cinephile as well. I love movies, and TV shows/anime too even, and I've been sharing this love with my community by holding monthly movie nights. I've been holding these movies nights for a while, and you can learn more about them on the Media Catalog page. These movie nights are held in my discord and I sometimes do random/impromptu watchalongs as well.

My hobbies are: streaming, ASMR (writing scripts, performing it), reading books, building gunpla/model kits, and playing the guitar. Does going on walks count too lol? (Update: I don't really go on walks much anymore...). I also like to do yoga and play gacha games :^)

What I Want to Achieve

This is simply a way for myself to keep track of my goals, and what I want to accomplish as a content creator! I can kind of hold myself accountable here and remind myself of my goals when I need it.

• Games: There's so many games and game series I want to play more. Mass Effect, Metal Gear, Half Life series, Armored Core, Dark souls (maybe?? if i hate myself??), the legend of zelda series, kirby games, the pikmin series, classic retro games like Doom, Fear and Hunger (maybe also if I hate myself), Fallout, Outer Wilds, JRPGs (if i hate myself again), a funni Sims series/challenge, back to the Civilization series (once more hating myself), Resident Evil series, etc etc...
• Reboot/redesign: Yup, this isn't quite a secret, I am looking to "rebrand" soon? I'm not sure if that's the right word. I'll still be me of course. But just, visually, it will be different. A lot better imo. More cohesive and pleasing design to come!!
• Better 3d model? : Because 3D streams are cool and you can make really neat content with a 3D model due to its flexibility.
• Improve this website
• Make more Youtube videos: Probably scripted ASMR content, but I enjoy even just making those. Script writing and recording, lets me practice my voice acting and such. And I think they're helpful for others too! I am vaguely still interested in video essays but they take so long to make for seemingly little return, it is hard to justify for me personally unless I am super passionate about a topic.
• VR stuff: Since I got a VR headset, I feel I might as well use it. It's much harder to setup for streams than normal games, but I think they have a lot of potential to be quite more fun.
• Music/karaoke streams: Basically getting better at singing, and playing the guitar. I really want to do guitar playing streams!!
• Build a stronger community: I want to support and help more people, and have as much people around me as possible. I love it tbh. Relying on others, and having them rely on me too. I want us to be some kind of impact on this little space of the internet, for people to recognize me and my community and think that hey, those are some cool neat people.
• Be somewhat self sustainable: I'm not quite delusional that I could turn this into a job. But, it would be great if I could right? Having a steady source of income from this would allow me to reinvest and keep doing this more and more!!
• Collabs/be more in touch with other streamers: I feel this is really important in this vtuber space. I am just terrible at social interaction. A bit of a loner by nature so it doesn't feel natural for me to really reach out. If you're a content creator reading this, please feel free to contact me I promise I am nice I don't bite I'd love to make friends!! :)
• Longer/more streams: Simply put, I want to pull off doing much longer streams. This would probably involve starting much earlier, which would mean waking up earlier, and therefore fixing my sleep schedule...
